Funeral Policy
First English Lutheran Church Sanctuary and Luther Hall
1.The use of the sanctuary and fellowship hall for funerals is freely offered to all, whether they are or are not members of the congregation.
2. Caskets are not to be open in the sanctuary proper.
Officiants
1. The called pastor(s) of the congregation shall officiate at funerals in the church buildings.
2. Another pastor or pastor(s) may assist or officiate with the approval of a called pastor at FELC.
3. In the absence of a pastor called by FELC, another LUTHERAN clergy may officiate. Arrangements must be approved by the church office in consultation with the Council president.
4. In the absence of a pastor called by FELC, another non-Lutheran clergy may officiate. Arrangements must be approved by the Congregation Council.
5. Ceremonies of quasi-religious organizations shall not be permitted in the buildings or premises of FELC.
Kitchen and Serving
1. FELC members shall be in charge of the kitchen. Others may assist.
2. The menu shall be selected with the consultation of a member of FELC.
3. A gratuity may be given for the use of the facility and its volunteers.
